Golden Charter funeral plans
A funeral plan is an easy way to arrange the funeral you want in advance. A plan allows you to specify your wishes and pay for the funeral director’s services included in your plan. As our customers often tell us, that can bring peace of mind to you and your family. A plan from Golden Charter also includes an allowance towards third party costs. These are essential, non-funeral director services such as the cremation or burial fees, plus the minister or officiant’s fee to perform the service.
At Andy Free Independent Family Funeral Director, we work in partnership with Golden Charter to provide you with a safe and reliable way to plan ahead. As one of the UK’s largest funeral plan providers*, Golden Charter has helped 900,000 people make funeral provisions** so we’re completely confident in offering their plans to you.
Everyone has different needs when it comes to funeral planning, so we make sure the plans we offer are as flexible as possible. When you get in touch, we’ll be happy to discuss your funeral requirements and tailor a plan to suit you. Rest assured a plan from Golden Charter is available to all UK residents who are over 18, regardless of age or state of health.

Pre-arranging a funeral
When you feel you want to, you can start to think about a few things that will help you tailor the funeral service/ceremony which we can arrange and provide for you. We are here to help you every step of the way, so as to ensure the funeral service/ceremony is that of a respectful and dignified one to reflect the life of your loved one.
During our meeting we will sit together and gently talk to you about you loved one to enable us to get a picture of the person they were, we can then advise you on the different services we offer to arrange a funeral fitting to the life that has been led.
We will also advise you of all costs and disbursements for the arrangements we would have spoken with you about, you will then be given a hand written estimate at this time. When the arrangements have been confirmed and agreed we will send you a letter of confirmation including timings for the cortege, along with all the other details arranged. Included will be two copies of a typed estimate of costs and disbursements, one is for your records and the other we ask to be kindly signed and return to us prior to the funeral for our records. If the final account is going to be sent to a solicitor or bank, we ask that you inform us of of their name and address and another copy will be sent to you for your records.
“We believe the very smallest of detail can make the biggest of differences.”
